Some fifteen years ago Rob Matson first started telling stories to his older sons, Robert and Matthew, at bedtime, rather than reading books. His sons would provide the characters; and, he would spin a story based on those characters. Over the years, he would do the same with his nieces, nephews, and, most recently, his youngest son Boyd. There are few things more enjoyable than trying to do an impromptu story about a combination of things like a squirrel, ghost, and a race car.
Rob was inspired to put words to print for the first time to honor a friend's son, Nicholas Speights. Nick left us at the age of seven; but, the memory of him lives on in those who knew him. For Nick, here is a story about pickles and an eagle's nest.
