Local lemonade sale nets large contribution

Sunday, June 17, 2007 was not only Father’s Day, but it would have been Nicholas’ 8th birthday.  The Speights family decided to go camping to spend some time reflecting and to change the scenery as well as their focus for the weekend.  Upon their return Sunday afternoon, several of the neighborhood kids had started a lemonade stand at the end of the street.  They made signs and spent the afternoon screaming to all passersby to buy lemonade and support the liveBIG Fund for Nicholas.  The Richard’s family upped the ante by offering to ‘match’ the funds the children could raise.  At the end of the hot afternoon, the neighbors invited the Speights family to a large impromptu barbeque.  More than 40 people were present when the lemonade team presented Cheryl and Bill with $106.08 for the liveBIG Fund!
